9 NEW LOCAL POLICE OFFICERS TAKE OFFICE

The Plenary Hall of the City Council of Torrevieja has hosted the inauguration of 9 agents that increase the staff of the Local Police. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolon, Councillor for Police, Security and Emergencies, Federico Alarcón, and the mayor of Personnel, Maria Jose Ruiz.

The councillor for Personnel informed that when the IVASPE (Valencian Institute of Public Safety) organises the course these 9 agents will be appointed to their posts, which are called for in the selective process they have passed. Once they have passed the IVASPE course, these local police officers will be appointed as career civil servants.

With these new additions has already increased by about 25 police officers, including officers, quartermasters and agents, the staff, although from the government team will continue to work for the Local Police of Torrevieja is growing significantly. The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolon, has valued very positively this increase in local police throughout this summer, full of numerous events and activities in our city. Eduardo Dolon, after swearing or promise their positions, has welcomed them all and encouraged them to work with great dedication to continue improving the image of the city of Torrevieja.

Torrevieja currently has a total of 142 local police officers (122 agents, 12 officers, 6 inspectors, 1 quartermaster and 1 commissioner.
