Alicante-Elche Airport scoops ‘Best Airport in Europe’

Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernandez Airport has been crowned as the ‘Best Airport in Europe’. The esteemed accolade was bestowed upon the airport at the start of September by the Airports Council International (ACI) during a grand Gala Dinner held in Incheon, South Korea.
Laura Navarro, the Director of Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernandez Airport, had the honour of receiving the award in the category catering to airports handling 15 to 25 million passengers.
This recognition was initially unveiled in March of this year during the ACI Customer Experience Global Summit, an event that brought together over 500 distinguished airport executives, all with a keen focus on enhancing customer experience.
What lends considerable weight to these awards is that they are determined based on feedback gathered from passengers through ASQ surveys (Airport Service Quality program), meticulously conducted by ACI.
The Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernandez Airport serves as an international gateway to the picturesque Costa Blanca region, bearing the name of the revered Spanish poet Miguel Hernandez.
The airport boasts state-of-the-art amenities, featuring an array of shops, restaurants, and duty-free outlets. With its two well-maintained runways, the airport accommodates a diverse range of both domestic and international flights, solidifying its position as a crucial transportation hub and providing seamless connectivity to the Costa Blanca region.
Beyond its role in passenger services, the airport also plays a pivotal part in cargo operations, further contributing to the tourism and overall economic development of the area.
This latest recognition solidifies Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernandez Airport’s commitment to excellence in service, underlining its pivotal role in the region’s aviation landscape. The award is not only a testament to the airport’s dedication but also a testament to the satisfaction and trust of the millions of passengers it serves.

  1. The staff are exceptional. Our grandson who was flying alone for the first time encountered a three hour delay and was cared for by a young man who spoke to me on the phone and bought him a charger for his phone from his own pocket.
    Such kindness.

  2. Co gratulations to all the hadworking staff and workers involved in making Alicante Airport achieve this award. I love traveling from there. Its a credit to each and every one of you.
