The local community is mourning singer and Rod Stewart tribute act Andy McBride passed away as a result of the effects of Covid. London-born Andy, who lived in San Miguel with his wife Belinda passed away in Torrevieja ICU at the weekend. Andy had been taken into Torrevieja Hospital and placed on a ventilator earlier this month.
Hundreds of tributes have been paid to the man who had been a leading entertainer across the southern Costa Blanca for several years. Andy, who made his mark as Rod Stewart, was a talented singer and had played in several bands.
Wife Belinda said: “An amazing thank you to the doctors and nurses who tried so hard to win Andy’s battle and to everyone for their overwhelming messages. RIP:”
