There is a WhatsApp message (mostly in Spanish) doing the rounds this week, claiming that bars in the Valencian Community will have to close at 6pm due to new measures being imposed by regional government. The hoax message claims that the Valencian Government is modifying the current restrictions to bring about a 6pm closing time for bars and restaurants.
Government sources have confirmed that the message is a hoax and that there are no plans to increase restrictions on the hostelry sector at present.
The president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, said only yesterday (Thursday) that the Valencian Community “is not going to apply more restrictions in a compulsive way” and that any new or tighter restrictions will be adopted with “serenity and persistence”.
