
The Mayor of Orihuela, Emilio Bascuñana, has presented the Christmas program organised by the Orihuela City Council. The Councillor for Communication, Rafael Almagro, explained that this year the theme of ‘reunion’ will united all the element of the Christmas campaign which includes important events such as the Three Kings parade, the Santa Claus parade, and the Charity Market, among others activities.

The Councillor for Tourism and Festivities, Mariola Rocamora, said ‘we have also installed different Christmas decorations in different parts of the city, such as in the Plaza de la Soledad, Orihuela Costa Town Hall and in Los Andenes’.
The illumination of the Christmas Lights will take place in Orihuela Costa on 14th December and the Santa Claus parade returns on the 22nd December on the coast and the Three Kings parade on 5th January.
The Teatro Circo will host a Christmas Concert with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Alicante University on 17th December; on the 19th there will be a Disney Christmas concert by the Orcelitana Lyrical Union and finally on the 25th December there will be a Christmas Concert by the Orihuela City Orchestra.
Between 9th and 12th December the annual Charity Market will be held at the Glorieta Gabriel Miró, in which a numberof non-profit associations and groups from across Orihuela municipality will participate.
The Mayor of Orihuela ended the presentation by congratulating the Department of Communication and the rest of the departments for the work carried out over months to prepare the program.
The Mayor said: “I wish that we can all enjoy this Christmas spirit and we invite all Oriolanos, residents of the Vega Baja, visitors and tourists to share with us all these festive activities, eat in our restaurant, buy in our shops and enjoy our hospitality. ”
