Drug dealer arrested

Officers of the National Police in Elche have arrested a 47-year-old man, of Spanish nationality, as an alleged drug trafficker and for allegedly selling and distributing various types of drugs in Elche and numerous other towns across the province, including the Vega Baja region.
The investigation began several months ago when it became known through anonymous tip offs that, a certain individual was engaged in the distribution of narcotic substances, more specifically amphetamine sulphate, known colloquially by the name ‘Speed’, in quantities that would oscillate between 3 and 4 kilograms per month sold across different towns in the province of Alicante.
The suspect distributed his drugs by contacting customers mainly by phone and would then travel the same route distributing the drugs quickly, sometimes passing them to other dealers who would redistribute to those buying on a small scale.
The Narcotics Group of the Elche Police Station established several discreet surveillance techniques for weeks on the properties in question, one in the town of Elche and the other in the town of Torrevieja and on the main suspect.
In a short time, the information received as a tip off was confirmed and it was established that the man travelled to homes and even to public establishments or businesses in various towns such as Torrevieja, Santa Pola, Los Montesinos, Callosa del Segura, Redovan and Alicante among others to distribute his drugs to clients, sometimes with deals even taking place in the street.
During the surveillance operation, police officers began to note the suspects way of working. He would complete a drug deal and then leave the place at high speed, but not before taking different security measures in order to avoid being spotted by the police, or so he thought.
Once the officers had all the necessary information, they located and detained the suspect and at the same time several house searches were carried out. The searches uncovered 1,200 ecstasy tablets, with a gross weight of 550 grams, over 400 grams of substance amphetamine sulphate (speed), 2 magic mushrooms, 5 grams of Ketamine, 5 sets of precision scales, 16 grams of marijuana buds, cutting substances, 2,130 euros in cash and the vehicle used to carry out the distribution crimes.
The arrested person was placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction by the Guardia de Elche. The crime will be tried as a serious offence as the drugs found are considered and classified as hard drugs. Some are synthetic drugs with high manipulation and toxicity that cause serious disorders to the central nervous system and the law and legal system is keen to stamp out those pushing them.
