A 15 year old girl in Elche was pronounced dead after a tragic accident at her home. It is believed the teenage victim was stabbed in the heart by a shard of glass from the front door of the building in which she lived with her family.
The incident occurred at 1pm on Thursday in a building located on Elche’s Calle Doctor Ferrán. The glass of the entry door to the building broke and hit the girl in the back, penetrating her body and piercing her heart, causing her death.
Paramedics were immediately called to the scene but could not save the teen’s life. Once the girl was pronounced dead by medics, the National Police communicated the incident to the Elche court so that the judicial commission could be called in. Police cordoned off the scene and the girl’s body has been transferred to Institute of Legal Medicine in order to carry out an autopsy. An investigation into the events surrounding the tragic incident is underway.
