Guardia Civil boss bids goodbye to Torrevieja

The Commander in Chief of the Guardia Civil in Torrevieja, Antonio J. Leal Bernabéu, bid an official goodbye to the town of Torrevieja this week. After three years at the helm of command in Torrevieja, Commander Bernabéu has been reassigned to Madrid to act in an advisory capacity to senior management.

Commander Bernabéu said goodbye to the mayor, Eduardo Dolón, and the Councillor of Security and Emergencies, Federico Alarcón at an official ceremony in the town hall.  Both the mayor and the security councillor thanked the Commander in Chief for his service to the town over the last three years.

He has now been reassigned to high command in Madrid where he will work in human resource planning and management.

The mayor congratulated the Commander and wished him the best, both professionally and personally, in the next chapter of his life but, at the same time expressed his sadness that Torrevieja is losing him.  The mayor said that Commander Bernabéu always stood out with his professionalism.

Finally, Mayor Dolón presented Commander Bernabéu with the traditional salt boat, reminding him that he will always be welcome in the city of Torrevieja.
