Latest Coronavirus figures


The latest official figure (available prior to going to print) released by the Spanish Health Ministry on Friday 27th August for the number of people who have tested positive for Coronavirus since the start of the pandemic is now 4,831,809. This is an overall increase of 9,489 against the figure released on Thursday 26th August, of which 4,612 have been registered in the past 24 hours.
Thursday had seen an overall increase of 7,115 over Wednesday, of which 4,504 were registered in 24 hours. The peak of recorded infections for a 24-hour period during the pandemic in Spain was on 21st January, when 18,504 cases were registered.
The overall incidence rate across Spain has fallen another 12 points to 264.13 per 100,000 inhabitants for the past 14 days. On Thursday it was 276.43 and Wednesday 291.28.
The incidence rate has fallen since yesterday for each age group per 100,000 inhabitants for the past 14 days, as follows:

 Aged 12-19 – 538 (570)

 Aged 30-39 – 255 (259)

Of the 4,612 new infections to have only been registered in the past 24 hours on Friday 27 Aug, the number for Valencia region is 136.
