San Fulgencio Local Police recovered two vehicles that had been stolen in the town. The events occurred on Tuesday morning after a robbery at a shop in the commercial centre next to the N-332. The alleged perpetrator managed to flee the scene on foot. However, several witnesses alerted police to a suspected getaway car parked nearby.
Thanks to the description offered by witnesses, one of the patrols that had been dispatched to the scene managed to locate and immobilize the car. After proceeding to identify both the driver and the vehicle itself, the agents detected that the car had been reported as stolen. Officers proceeded to arrest the suspect and had the car towed to the municipal depot for it to be delivered to its owner.
On the same day in the afternoon, during a routine patrol, officers noticed a vehicle parked suspiciously in one of the streets of La Marina urbanization. After running the car’s registration number through the system, it was detected that this car had also been reported stolen.
A police spokesperson said, “These actions have been the result of intensifying the surveillance of the municipal area through the deployment and coordination of mobile patrols throughout all areas of the town. Likewise, fixed points of prevention and random traffic controls have also been established, all with the aim of reinforcing the safety and protection of citizens.”
The mayor of San Fulgencio has called for citizen collaboration, “which is always an invaluable help for the exercise of our work.” The telephone number 966 79 44 52 is available to anyone to report suspicious activity.
