A new market kicked off with great success this month in Mar Azul. The first edition of the monthly market raised €145 for the La Florida Friends Foodbank. Stallholders included clothing, art and crafts, jewellery, home decor, food and a tombola.
Organisers said, “Each time we are going to nominate one of the Food Banks as recipient from money from pitches, tombola and food donations from customers. Each stall holder will also bring food to make up a separate hamper. The market is held in the Pool Bar Mar Azul, next to Restaurant Christopher. It’s a fab venue with a pool, full bar for cold beverages and Christophers put on a barbeque too. It starts at 11.30am till 3.30pm. As well as the money we raised, we also gathered a couple of bags of food for the food bank. Our next one should see 20 plus stalls with a wide variety of goods for sale and a drop off point for food donations too.”
