The Vega Baja has registered 70 new Covid-19 cases during the weekend, according to data updated by the Ministry of Health. The number of infections in the region since the pandemic began amounts to 792.
The data covers from Saturday to Monday. Of the new cases 32 correspond to the Orihuela Health Department (dependent on the Vega Baja Hospital, and 38 to the Torrevieja health area. In terms of municipalities, the local municipalities seem to top the list with Orihuela registering 27 new cases and Orihuela 16.
San Miguel de Salinas has six new positives, Albatera five, Callosa de Segura four and Benejúzar three. The towns of Almoradí, Cox, Dolores, Guardamar del Segura, Los Montesinos and Redován add one new contagion each. Since the pandemic began, the Orihuela Health Department has already registered 317 cases and 24 deaths, and the Torrevieja area has 545 positives and 59 deaths.
