Orihuela Costa Sports Centre opens spinning studio


The Mayor of Orihuela, Emilio Bascuñana and the Councillor for Sports, Víctor Bernabéu, visited the Orihuela Costa Municipal Sports Centre to see the works that are being carried out in different areas and that will be finished in the coming days.
Councillor Bernabéu explained that “the project facilitates the expansion of the sports hall building for the fitting out of a new area for the practice of spinning that was being highly demanded, and a few weeks ago the floor was also changed in the three paddle tennis courts. We continue to fulfil our commitment to offer the best sports facilities to all residents and users in Orihuela Costa.”
The total amount of these works amounts to 55,133 euros, of which 41,763 euros have been allocated to the new area of the multipurpose room and 13,370 euros for the paddle tennis courts. The extension of this spinning sports area is located on the first flat roof with an area of 61 m2.
The Mayor of Orihuela, Emilio Bascuñana highlighted “the importance of the execution of these works that represent an important improvement so that the residents of the coast and users of these facilities can make use of them as soon as possible. We have made a great effort to resume the activity of this centre and continue to work to offer the best possible service.”
The Municipal Sports Centre of the Coast reopened its doors at the end of last year after the award of management to the company Vectoris SL was resolved with a contract for the duration of two years, extendable for another. The company carries out sports programs, activities and schools, rescue and first aid in the municipal swimming pool, and auxiliary services for maintenance, cleaning and access control in sports facilities and spaces in Orihuela Costa.
The Municipal Sports Centre has an area of 24,000 m² that includes three paddle tennis courts, two tennis courts, two sports courts, a 25-meter swimming pool, an artificial turf soccer field, a multipurpose hall and a running circuit of 550 meters in length.
