One officer received stitches and another officer suffered an anxiety attack
Two agents of the Local Police of Guardamar del Segura required medical assistance this Sunday for the attack they suffered in a brawl near the promenade where they proceeded to penalize a van that was parked incorrectly. At that moment, the owner of the vehicle approached, apparently in a state of intoxication. When the agents proceeded to perform the breathalyzer test to remove the vehicle, the man refused and the unfortunate event occurred, with family members joining the attack and beginning to rebuke the agents.
The mayor of Guardamar, José Luis Sáez, explained in the microphones of Radio Orihuela that in the fight all the individuals involved violated authority and dealt several punches and blows.
Immediately, reinforcements from the Local Police and Civil Guard from Guardamar and other nearby municipalities arrived, arresting three people and identifying all the members involved.
The mayor explained that the worst case was an agent who needed stitches in his eye and mouth. The other agent suffered an anxiety attack.
José Luis Sáez has regretted this event and has expressed his gratitude to the Local Police, Civil Guard, health services and the Red Cross for their quick intervention, as well as to the citizens who also collaborated.
