A dead dolphin was found on Playa de los Locos in Torrevieja on Friday.
The specimen, a striped dolphin, was removed by emergency services and town hall workers and will be frozen in order that the cause of death can be later determined by the municipal biologist. The finding is a cause for concern as in recent months there has been a surge in the number of dead striped dolphins found along the coast.
