Flood prevention campaign

The Emergency Coordination Centre of the Generalitat is launching its annual Flood
Prevention Campaign, in coordination with the municipalities of the Valencian
Community and integrated organisations. The essence of which is to reminded Town
Halls that they must review their procedures and take action against the risk of
flooding.
The documentation that forms part of the campaign is available for download on the
1·1·2 Comunitat Valenciana website. The updated version of the Special Flood Risk
Plan can also be found on this page.
An important part of the flood prevention campaign is to remind local administrations
that there must be action and response plans for floods that are managed by the local
administration, the companies that operate and supply basic services and the public
agencies and services of intervention and support. All this either with its own
Municipal Action Plan against the risk of Floods or through the Municipal Emergency
Plan.
Of the 227 town halls with the obligation to draft the municipal action plan against
floods (PAM IN), 110 have approved it, 53 are in the approval process and 40 are
drafting it.
When the 2023-24 Campaign ends, it is expected that 89.4% of the municipalities with
high or medium risk of flooding will already have drawn up their municipal action plan
against the risk of flooding.
