Locals are being asked to put their best foot forward to raise money for the children of
the San Jose Obrero Orphanage. The 4km walk will take place on Sunday 24 th
September and will start and finish at Kiosko Cabo Cervera, along the coast of La Mata.
The Deputy Mayor of Torrevieja will be starting the walk and some of the children
from the Orphanage will also be taking part, to show their thanks to the community.
People can walk with their dogs providing they are on a lead and owners have pooper
scooper and plenty of water.
The orphanage is home to more than 60 children aged from 6 to 16 and it aims to
provide a family atmosphere where children are cared for and feel safe. Education and
integration into society are core values and Diocesan Foundation is staffd by a team of
professionals in social education.
All money raised will be used to buy items the children such as clothes, toiletries and
school provisions.
The walk will begin at 11am and so people are asked to arrive from 10.30am. For
